The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. You can search the CQC website for information about inspections and ratings of health and care services.

We want everyone to have fair access to NHS services and opportunities, and we work to reduce unfair differences in health between communities.

NHS Essex has statutory responsibilities for safeguarding children and adults at risk.
We work with NHS providers and other partners to make sure appropriate safeguarding arrangements are in place. This includes responsibilities relating to looked-after children and child death reviews.

NHS Essex Board meetings
NHS Essex holds Board meetings in public. Members of the public can attend and observe the Board discussing NHS services, priorities, performance and the use of public money.

- decisions made by the Board
- how to attend a meeting
- how to watch meetings online
- how to submit a question to the Board
Some information cannot be discussed in public because it is confidential or exempt from disclosure. When this happens, the Board may consider that part of the meeting in private.

Information about decisions made by NHS Essex committees and other decision-making groups is published where appropriate through our governance information, Board papers and publications library.
