Our values describe who we are at NHS Essex and how we work together to improve health and care for people across Essex.
Our three values are Collaboration, Compassionate and Bravery. They help guide how we work with each other, our partners and the communities we serve.
Collaboration
We work together to achieve the best outcomes for people and communities.
We listen to different views, share knowledge and support each other. We work across teams, professions and organisations because we know we can achieve more when we work together.
Compassionate
We treat everyone with kindness, respect and understanding.
We listen to others and value different experiences and perspectives. We support each other and create an environment where everyone feels included and able to do their best.
We are also willing to have honest and sometimes difficult conversations when this is needed to help people and teams perform at their best.
Bravery
We have the confidence to challenge, learn and make positive change.
We are open to new ideas and willing to challenge ourselves and each other in a constructive way. We learn from our experiences, including when things do not go as planned.
We have the courage to speak up, try new approaches and make changes that improve what we do.
NHS core values
Our three NHS Essex values sit alongside the six core values in the NHS Constitution. These values underpin everything we do across the NHS:
