Emily Hough is the Executive Director of Strategy at the NHS Essex Integrated Care Board.
Emily has worked in strategy and transformation roles across the NHS for over 15 years. This includes more than three years as Director of Strategy at NHS England, where she led work supporting the development of the NHS Long Term Plan.
Before joining NHS Essex ICB, Emily was Executive Director for Strategy and Corporate Services at NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board.
Emily has contributed to national and regional strategies across a wide range of NHS service areas and has overseen the delivery of national programmes focused on NHS innovation and the role the NHS can play in improving the wider social determinants of health. Her experience also includes developing the Provider Collaborative in North East London, advising the first NHS Trust Special Administrator, and supporting the implementation of a major service reconfiguration in North Central London.
More recently, Emily spent time in the United States as a Harkness Fellow in Healthcare Policy and Practice and a Senior Fellow at Brown University. She began her career as a management consultant and studied Psychology at the University of Edinburgh.
Emily is currently on maternity leave and will be returning later in the year.
