Essex ICB does not commission laser eye surgery or any other surgical/refractive procedures for the correction of myopia; only standard optical correction and treatment of pathological complications of high myopia are funded.

This service/procedure has been assessed as a Low Clinical Priority by the ICB and will not be funded unless there areexceptional clinical circumstances.
Individual funding requests should only be made where the patient demonstrates clinical exceptionality.
