Dr Anna Davey is Associate Medical Director for Neighbourhoods at NHS Essex. She has more than 20 years’ experience as a doctor and GP, as well as a strong background in NHS leadership.
Anna qualified as a doctor from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1999. She then worked as a junior doctor at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and Colchester Hospital University NHS Trust.
Anna worked as a GP in Halstead for 12 years before moving to Coggeshall Surgery in 2017. Alongside her work as a GP, she has held a number of senior roles in the NHS.
In 2016, Anna became Clinical Lead for Out of Hospital Care at NHS Mid Essex CCG. In this role, she helped to improve care for people outside of hospital and supported closer working between GPs, community services and other health and care teams. She became Chair of the CCG in October 2018.
From July 2022 to March 2026, Anna was a Board member and GP partner member of NHS Mid and South Essex ICB. During this time, she helped shape plans for health and care services across the area.
As Associate Medical Director for Neighbourhoods at NHS Essex, Anna helps lead the development of local health and care services. She works with GPs, community teams, local councils and other partners to bring services closer to people and make sure care is joined up around their needs.
Anna remains committed to her clinical work. Her main clinical interests are women’s health, dermatology and caring for older people with complex health needs.
