Adam Sewell-Jones is Group Chief Executive of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
Adam has worked in the NHS since 1992. He started his career as a trainee accountant and has held a range of senior roles in London and Essex, including Director of Finance, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive.
He later took on national NHS leadership roles, including Director of Provider Sustainability, Director of Improvement and Regional Director for the South West of England. In these roles, he led a range of programmes to improve NHS services.
Adam became Chief Executive of Newham Hospital in East London before moving to East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust. He then joined Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
In 2025, Adam was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science by the University of Hertfordshire for his contribution to the NHS.
