The NHS Essex Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) is a statutory committee that brings together partners from across the health, care, local government, and voluntary sectors. This includes NHS organisations, Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea City Council, Thurrock Council, and voluntary and community organisations.
The ICP plays a key role in improving health and wellbeing across Essex by working together to address shared priorities and challenges.
One of the ICP’s main responsibilities is to develop and oversee the integrated care strategy for Essex. This strategy sets out how partners will work together to improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities, and support people to live healthier lives.
The ICP focuses on improving the wider factors that affect health, including prevention, early intervention, and joined-up care and support.

Partnership working and tackling health inequalities
The Integrated Care Partnership brings organisations together to address the broader causes of ill health. This includes improving access to services, supporting prevention, and reducing inequalities between different communities.
By working together, partners can develop shared solutions that improve health outcomes and ensure services meet the needs of people across Essex.
